Janet Bustin is the founder and president of Mzyme, a consultancy focused on business growth, brand development and marketing value. Mzyme core services include marketing consulting, branding, organizational model design/optimization, marketing process, agency search/selection and team facilitation. Janet also serves as an executive coach and consults and speaks on a range of topics, including leadership, team development and emotional intelligence. Janet is certified in the assessment, interpretation and training of the EQ-i 2.0, the leading emotional intelligence training tool.
Mzyme has partnered with clients such as 7-Eleven, Visionworks, Chili’s, GameStop, Red Robin, At Home, Sally Beauty, Cinemark, Children’s Health, TaxAct and many others across categories, including retail, restaurant, food and beverage, financial services, entertainment and beauty.
From her career as a senior marketing executive and advertising agency president, Janet has a successful track record leading DDB Dallas and TracyLocke. She is an innovative marketer with a reputation for growing strong businesses, creating enduring brands and launching successful new products across categories for companies such as Frito-Lay, JCPenney, Dean Foods, American Airlines, Hilton Hotels, McIlhenny Tabasco and Ingersoll-Rand to name a few. Core to her experience is disciplined branding, innovation and business development. Janet has a history of and a passion for inspiring people and creating high energy and collaborative cultures.
She has an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University and a B.A. in advertising from Texas Tech University. In addition, she has post-graduate leadership training including Omnicom University graduate program at Babson College, executive agency leadership training and professional training in contract negotiation and the art of negotiation. She has also served as an adjunct instructor for the Temerlin Advertising Institute at SMU.
